Doubled down on Lobster Tempura @8 at The Londoner, Leicester Square

I vividly remember leaving the rooftop garden thinking this was the best food I've ever had in my life.

With its understated Japanese minimalism, this izakaya-style lounge stole my heart in a blink of an eye. Situated on the 8th floor of London's hottest super-boutique hotel, The Londoner, 8 at the Londoner is the new crown jewel of downtown London.

When you go beyond the Japanese harmony and the lush minimalism, it is where unique flavours meet perfectly crafted signature cocktails. The menu is the dying wish of a foodie. Sea bass carpaccio with Fuji apple, king prawns wrapped in crispy filo pastry with wasabi mayonnaise, lobster gyoza tacos with chilli and cilantro.

We proudly doubled down on the lobster tempura and the chargrilled cabbage steak with jalapeño truffle butter because they were too good to only have them once.
